Era ~ Enae Volare Mezzo

Think I'm experiencing an obsession with this song.
It’s haunting; it haunts me like nothing else.
The song calms me and burns my soul at the same time.
It makes me happy and angry by some weird effect.
Too bad most of the lyrics are "created", since the language was created by one of the members.
The "language" does take cue from Latin and the Latin Languages.

David Sylvian and Robert Fripp - Damage
(song and album)

Yea, that's the one I did an AMV to some time ago...

The reason I'm listening to this now, aside from the known fact that I'm addicted to this band (as some of you probably know well), is that some days ago, Robert had attended a recording session with David, contributing his playing to a song for the next Sylvian album.

The very idea of this particular combo getting back together, even for one song, causes me difficulty keeping my pants on.

Peter Gabriel - Family Snapshot

An amazing song on which I got my brother hooked today... well, that's an understatement, even.

Incredible dramatization of the Kennedy assasination, thoughtful lyrics, effective use of subtle musical texture throughout, with an amazing ending.

Again, Gabriel may well be the only artist whom I listen to for lyrical/vocal content first and foremost.

Pearl Jam - Cant' Keep

It's live from the 2003 bootlegs.
Brisbane, Australia.

Sweet song, works great as an opening song. Such a moody
song, now "Go" kicks in.

AC / DC - "Back In Black"

Played it today for school concert auditions in a solo guitar medley I'm gonna play so it seemed appropriate.
I'm bored and you're dumb. A match made in heaven.

Thanks )v(ajin Koji. You reminded me of something... [rumages]
AC/DC's Hell's Bells.

Not incredibly deep, just fits the mood. So much for thinking today was cosmic ambience day (RSM).

Evergrey - A Touch of Blessing

Let's try jumping this bandwagon...

***

Interesting lyrics... nice building guitar and soundscape... very nice usage of metal elements.

Holy crap!

I highly approve, very dramatic stuff.

Oto, you need to hear When the Walls Come Down.

Yeah, a bit. They're more space rock, from what I've heard of them. More mellow and ambient, as their name might suggest. Interesting music, but doesn't remain among my favorites.

You're still on him, aren't you? (/recalls Vlad reportedly listening to this all the time a few months back).
Then again, who am I to talk?

Evergrey - When the walls go down

One problem is that the file seems to be slightly messed up...

But err, anyway... the voice

Quite something, this. Finally, a metal-oriented band that puts texture at the forefront. I don't think I need to mention the fact that it's scary.
But it's definitely up my musical alley
