The Chemical Brothers - Hey Boy, Hey Girl

The first time I heard this song...I was in the Legends Nightclub in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. I danced the maddest I had ever danced in Canada, and the maidens doth gyrated around my ministrations.

Great song to B-boy to, also. And I mean get some actual floor moves going.

Ridley Battle from Super Metroid

Yeah, I listen to A LOT of video game soundtracks, but one of my favorites would probably be the Armored Core 3 OST, its got music that is orchistrated, but it almost feels like a dark techno kinda thing...Ive heard thet style is called "Neo Classical" or "Electric Classical"
I think Rob Dougan would fall under that category as well
does anyone else know where I can find more of this so-called "Neo Classical"?

I beg to differ :P

Captain Beefheart - 25th Century Quaker.

Let's just say I have a sudden urge to go to a cottage.

And to be serious, the whole CD which this is from (Mirror Man Sessions) is the 'missing link' between avant-garde blues and Trout Mask Replica. It's really an incredible development in the direction of 1969's masterpiece, and by itself, it's still one of the most unusual pieces of music intended for active listening.

Fine, upon request...

Megaherz - Jordan

My brother seems to be a fan of this band, and I listen to it every once in a while. The intro to this one is quite nice, and I like the little synth in there, both amusing and creepy. Some interesting contrasts in the song, along with the usual scary german vocals.

I still insist that metal vocals sound best in German. I think the sounds of the language and the grammatic structure seem to sort of accommodate to the music; well, perhaps it's just me... I can't say I listen to very much metal. However, I accidentally drifted into the right mood for it just yesterday when I was irritated, by downloading the infamous Bathtub Shitter sample

But do forgive me if I choose to go back to my weird stuff now

Modern Talking - America

Yeah, who better to sing something nice and fun about America than one of the most successful and prolific German pop bands of the 80's and 90's?

Yeah, it starts out, with "The Star-Spangled Banner", you hear some quotations from FDR and MLK, then it segues into some "space" music, you hear Neal Armstrong, and some eerie Houston Mission Control commo speaking to "Columbia" (of course this was before the shuttle disaster).

And then...it segues into the uber-happy fun fun Euro-Disco, and the singing is all about some guy going through the days of the week until he can party in the weekend!

Perhaps that German pop band is right about America after all! :D

(This song is in English, BTW. Fairly good English; not some freaky Engrish.)

Blind Guardian - A Night at the Opera - "Punishment Divine"

As far as I know, based on Friedrich Nietszche. First song I've ever heard that focused on a philosopher's life. It's nice to hear power metal get philosophical. :? As long as the music still rocks.

Reveille - "Bleed The Sky"

As far as nu-metal goes this is one of the only songs I can still listen to and enjoy at all...
