Van Halen - "Eruption - Live"

Argh, I so want this tab but there are no live ones on powertabs that I've seen. If someone out there could tell me what the classical piece he plays before he plays the outro to Eruption is I would be SO happy! :¬ D If someone knows there classical music and would like to help I wouldn't mind sending the file over MSN or AIM.

Please! :¬ P

Korn - "Got the Life" in 5.1 surround.

5.1 is awsome, it makes just about everything sound about x1000000 better.
("Got the Life" is still a good song)

"Every day is like Sunday" - 10,000 maniacs

Hmm, I don't know, I'm just listening to my station on Lauchcast (which works by you rating stuff, then it plays stuff you liked or stuff that it thinks you'd like. So this is the first time I've heard it. It's sort of okay, I gasve it a one out of four, which yahoo says just means "okay".

Now it's changed to "don't dream it's over" by sixpence none the richer. I like this one better. It's sort of slow though, doesn't quite work with my current mood very well. I really have to try Mercora (free, legal, p2p internet radio - heard about it on TechTV), but obviously that'll be awhile as I take so long to get off my butt and do anything.

Motorpsycho, "Demon Box"

Somehow, they rock out hard and slow Melvins-style for six minutes, goof around with feedback and stuff for ten, and rock out again for two more. Eighteen minutes, and I still don't feel like I'm wasting my time.

Autechre - Incunabula

I'm listening to the whole CD, not any particual song. Easy to do with an ambient techno CD. :)

Autechre got my notice by getting a song on the π (think that's pi, this font ain't too swift in it's Greek symbol implementation) soundtrack (a great movie, you should check it out, if you can find it).

"Preview", not "Submit." Grr.

Anyway,

Autechre - Bike (at the moment)

The song before this, Kalpol Intro, is the song that made it on the π soundtrack. Good creepy short song. The whole CD is pretty good though. This is their first CD, as their CDs progress to their latest projects, the techno just keeps getting weirder and weirder, as they progressed from a more ambient sound to their current IDM sound. Still, I think it's not too bad. Probably going to pick up a few more of their CDs.

"The Gates of Delirium" from Relayer by Yes

For some reason I wanted to hear some British prog-rock from the Seventies. Digging through my collection tonight, I picked out some old (old!) Genesis: "The Musical Box" and "The Fountain of Salmacis" from their Nursery Cryme (1971) album. Peter Gabriel was still their singer and I think this was Steve Hackett's debut with the group.

Followed that with a couple pieces from Wishbone Ash's Argus cd ("Leaf and Stream", "Warrior"). Wanted to hear some Emerson, Lake and Palmer, but it doesn't look like I have any. I need to dig around some more.

That sort of mood strikes me once in a while, too. Well, technically, I do listen to one 70's British Prog group religiously (that being, 72-74 King Crimson), but I do have a taste for others as well every once in a while.

In fact...

That's the one I wanted to hear, too. Either that or Brain Salad Surgery. I'll be cruising the bargain bins this weekend. :)

One of the best bands ever, one of biggest influences in my musical tastes.

Ludwig von Beethoven
Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 92
(Chigago Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Sir Georg Solti)

Every time I get to the fourth (and final) movement of this particular symphony, I break out in giggles -- or start going "Pappara funi-funi Pappara hoe-hoe Pappara funi-funi tamago, . . ." Yes, the ending theme to Dragon Half.

To the ones listening to Autechre, . . . Years ago I caught a music video (on MTV, back when they actually showed music videos) for a song called "second bad vilbel." That got me started on them (w/ a double-CD called Tri Repetae); good stuff.

ProjeKct X - Message 22.

Well, I classify it as ProjeKct X material anyway. Really fun piece from King Crimson's recent 'Tour box' collectible CD, rare material. Based primarily around the percussion duet between P@ the drummer, and Adrian the usual-frontman, using cool HandSonic sounds in funky asian-sounding bell-like rhythms, followed by probably my favorite guitar sound ever from Fripp - I'd like to know what sort of effects combo he used. Sounds like some sort of odd whammy-pedal is at play. Anyway, it's good funky stuff
