IV wasn't as consistently good, no, but it had two songs that I like better than any song on II. I guess I'd say that II is a better album, but I like IV more.

sorry, lost my head ^_^;

Wow, flames AHOY!...

bEST IS SUBJECTIVE AND YOU KNOW IT, THAT POST ISN'T GOING TO GO VER WELL :?

im just tired of hearing stairway stairway stairway, which is why most people (not all, admittedly) think IV was the best. im not gonna argue any further (since this IS subjective) but still, it just gets annoying after a while...

Propyro wrote:Best and favorites are almost synonomus. so this is pretty much just a favorite rock album thread. So far it's a pretty good one too.

i never thought that, i always separate the two...but a lot of people dont so whatever :p

see my FAVORITE album is weezer's blue album, but the BEST is zepII...imo.

If we go by "best" rather than "favorite", then nothing by Metallica, Tool, or Pink Floyd belongs on this list.

Also consider innovation on the popular level.

by that logic you could put nirvana's nevermind....you can also partially blame them for all the shitty new fake punk bands.

actually, all the new punk bands that list nirvana as an inluence are far from shitty.

Nirvana was a main influence for Green Day. None of the shitty bands were really influenced by nirvana, they just liked them.

Yes, I do consider that one but I forgot to list it.

green day - 1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hour(1991)
~~
nirvana - nevermind(1991)1st nationally released nirvana album, bleach didnt do well until after that

for the emo bands you can blame "the dead milkman"...

also by influenced the shitty new fake punk, i mean bring punk more into the mainstream than it had before, even if nirvana wasnt full blown punk

but that technically wasn't Green Day, it was sweet children

Anyways, yeah, they've been around for a long time, but you have to remember that they were a young band on top of this.

Billie Joe was born in 72, do the math there, they were pretty young

Skinny Puppy - Too Dark Park

Perfect blend between stream-of-consciousness, fucked-up electronics, non-cheesy use of guitar, drum kit & drum machine's working together, conceptual continuity, meaningfulness, creativity, and pretty much everything that makes music art.
If nothing else, harsh noises get your attention.

Just because they mad esome music doesn't mean they wern't being infulenced as they were continuing to make music.

They were only kids when that EP came out, younger than I am.

Billie Joe has stated many times, and will tell you, Nirvana was a HUGE influence for him and Green Day.
