Ditto

Their first one's better than the new one too. Not that the new one sucks by any means.
If nothing else, harsh noises get your attention.

first one? Greyest of blue skies was their second album as FInger eleven from 99. Tip was their first from 98.

their first album was "Letters From Chutney" back in 95 when they were the Rainbow butt monkies.

or did you mean tip? I've only heard a few songs from tip, but it's ok.

I rate them this way.

Tip
The Greyest Of Blue Skies
Finger Eleven
Letters From Chutney

As mediocre as their s/t can be, it beats Letters. And I can understand someone switching around Tip and TGOBS, the latter was my favorite at one point.

My name and sig come from Tip's title song.

the only reason i'd put TGOBS over Tip is becasue i've only heard about 3 songs from tip, but it's your prefereance, no one says you have to like it one way or not at all.

by the way, what the hell is s/t?

s/t is an abbreviation for self/titled. i.e., Finger Eleven's album Finger Eleven.

I definitely recommend checking out the rest of Tip. It's an album that grows on you. (Although I still don't like the last track very much)

"One Thing", mayhaps?

"If I traded it all, if I gave it all away for one thing, just for one thing"
yadda yadda

Not a big fan of that one, but I can understand why people like it.

Duder, there's like, 2-3 people who've heard about Finger eleven, and then there's me, who knew about them when they were the Rainbow Butt Monkeys. I ran out and got Tip when they were blasting out 'quicksand' and then I got The Grayest of Blue Skies" a long, long time ago... They got a new one out?

Yeah, the new one is self-titled, and has spawned the singles "Good Times" and "One Thing" so far. Personally, I think it's a significant drop in originality and quality, to the point where they sound like just another nu-metal band. But it does have a few good songs, like "Panic Attack", and the absolutely excellent "Thousand Mile Wish". And it comes with a dvd that contains the video for "Good Times" and 8 very nice live songs (Absent Elements, Complicated Questions, Suffocate, Quicksand, The Last Scene Of Struggling, Obvious Heart, Tip!!, and First Time). If you're a big fan, or if you find that you like both of the singles, I'd say it's worth a buy.
