Well, whether they are obscure or not, I must say that they are living testament to the fact that more songs need to incorporate the word "Shilleileigh". "Rocky Road to Dublin" is a damn fine song.

Wait... shilleileigh or shillelagh? :? Or are they the same thing? And I thought the English language and I were friends.

Oh, and I'm not totally sure how obscure they may be, so I thought I'd ask: Alien Sex Fiend. I would ask about Killing Joke, but if they are in any way obscure I'd have to wonder (more) about this world.

DKM's aren't that obscure. Actualy their a pretty big punk group with a large fan base. They just aren't whored around the air waves all the time.
as far as i know at least.

neither do i. Hell the only reason peopel really think they are is probalby becasue they never heard them on the radio. The only time i heard tehm on the radio was at about 11:00, when the edge was doing it's punk-o-rama show, or shit i can't remember what they call the punk show any more... i think it was punk-o-rama ... meh, in that time slot they play all kinds of indie punk, old punk, really obscure punk, you name it.

Respect.

I'm going to see Symphony X in December, and Townsend is playing there too.

Live is pretty far from being obscure. And they have, I dunno, maybe 30 or 40 songs better than "Deep Enough". Like "The Beauty Of Grey" or "Lakini's Juice" or the well-known "Lightning Crashes".

Well, okay, I was just asking if they were considered one of the lesser known bands since I've only been recently introduced to them. Anyway, here's a few more I'm wondering about:

Spock's Beard
Flower Kings
Conception
Nightwish
Masterplan
Wall of Voodoo
Did I already mention Roxy Music?

Anyway, not entirely sure about those, so I leave it up to your judgement.

I think those can all be considered relatively obscure... I've heard of 'em all but I can say most people here haven't. Nightwish might not be anymore, thanks to Rubyeye mostly (here on the Org, that is). You know Conception is making a new album? I'm not sure if Khan is going to sing, but I'm looking forward to it either way. I can't picture them without Khan, but he's busy with Kamelot I'm sure.
