Looking for an program to make beats, any1 know of 1?

I am looking for a program like "MTV Music generator" something so that I can cut, paste and edit my own songs/beats or make my own. I am looking for something simple, i just got cool edit pro 2 but its to complicated, i don't have a lot of knowledge on computers. So can anyone help? and recommend something thanks in advance

I believe Acid Music programs work well. I haven't used them myself, but from what I've heard, it's very easy to use. The only thing is that the beats and whatnot that you use are pre-done, and you just assemble them the way you want. What I use is Fruity Loops. It's a little more complicated, but you have pretty much absolute control over what you do.
