I go to Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and Circuit City usually when I wanna buy a CD. Or, if it's from an Asian artist, I order it online at yesasia.com. That's a great site for Asian music. ^_^

I usually check Best Buy. If I can, though, I'll buy it used at CD Warehouse or Specs.

A local store called "Sound Sollutions" is where I usually order my CDs, at least there when I say "Iced Earth" they wont say "huh?(in confusion)". When all else fails I order from amazon, or when I get the chance to go to West Edmonton Mall I just go to the HMV there and buy from there.

CD's

Postby SSJ3Gotenks » Tue Sep 09, 2003 10:16 am

well, i usually just download songs from kazaa and burn them or put them in my MP3 player...but if youre bent on buying the CD's...ususally if you go to BIG stores such as Best Buy or Virgin Mega-Store, they usually have a very wide variety of CD's. You can also ask around for a music store that sells underground music CD's, if that's what your looking for.

Amazon is good, I like going directly to label online stores, like waxploitation and Positron.

HMV's managment team consists of 3 monkeis on crack and a dead frog in a jar.

I went in there several times and saw a mark down bin full of new, unopened, or japanese imported cd's. The japanese ones were unopened and in engilsh ... they jsut had a peice of paper over the spine with japanese writing.

But anyways i went through this bin and found "Soilworks - Natural Born Chaos" and "OLP - happiness ..." I never saw the soilworks one on the other shelves, but i found OLP with the rest of the OLP cd's ... the same cd i pullled out of the discount bin was on teh shelves for about 26 bucks ... in the discound bin it was marked down to 10.99. Before i found "NIN - The downward spiral" in their mark down bin as well ... it was in for $16, on the normal shelves it was $31 ... fucking idiots ... if you mark soemthing down, mark all of it down, not just a few copies.

Plus their DVD's are ridiclious ... most of them are about $52 each ... at elast for Anime they are ... live action is a bit mroe tollerable.

do you buy new or used?

I'd think a lot of people would like to you, about a Cd being new or not.

I get my jazz & world beat CD's from amazon. They're good to cross reference what you like for what you'd probably like.

Plus, I don't have to leave my house.

I haven't bought a cd in about 3 years. In fact 3 yrs ago I sold all the cd's I owned at the time. I somehow have a huge music library on my computer....

Beware of Kazaa though, unless you like lawsuits. There are better options out there.

Really the internet is the only place I can find so much of the rare music I listen to, including many remixes of songs by various dj's and rare groups.

I usually go to CD Warehouse. It's within walking distance and their used CDs (being the majority of their inventory) are usually in fairly good condition and about $7-$8. Decent selection, too, though a bit lacking in the punk section (Only one BR album? Bah!).
