That Shaft song is much more fun than it has any right to be. Have you perchance heard the godawful "Doop"? :D

Anything with a cuica = teh win.
I should post all songs with cuicas tomorrow.

OMG POSTAL SERVICE COVERING FLAMING LIPS.

This is like, the musical equivalent of camembert cheese covering Remy Martin. Only GOOD.

Wow. Thank you. I didn't even know this existed... just assumed that Give Up had all the tracks from the SGH EP.

I am in musical bliss.
"Driving home the sky accelerates..."

Were you able to catch the Postal Service on tour with Cex during the spring? One of the best shows I've attended this year.

Gah! Forgot to label it as being a Flaming Lips cover. Thanks for pointing it out :o

And thanks for reminding me that I missed em when they were in Austin!! ;_; I didn't FIND OUT about the show until an hour before they played, and by then it was totally sold out. I was pissed........ off........ And a bunch of people I know ended up going and always tell me "HOW WONDERFUL AND INCREDIBLE THEY ARE LIVE" >_< GWAH. I really really really really really hope they do another American tour (they're in Australia right now). I haven't even heard whether or not Ben and Jimmy are gonna make any more songs/albums. All I've heard is that Postal Service was just an experimental side project from Death Cab and Dntel. But, they make such beautiful stuff together :\ Here's hoping they make another album and tour again.

And on a related note, will post my very favorite song of Ben & Jimmy's, that happens to be their first collaboration, and the beginning of The Postal Service.

I'll post another set of 5 tomorrow.

Thanks again for great musics peeps 8)

AtomX: Thank you man! I'm halfway through listening to the stuff you posted, but I already gotta say it's some awesome picks. Certainly useful as I'd never try this kind of music otherwise.

And, of course, Dismemberment Plan is mighty nice. I admit, you got me there.

Watching out...
Let's see if I can dance to it.

Oh shit! This is indeed as gay as I thought. Yaoi fans take note, good AMV material. Yaoi haters avoid at all cost. Neutrals avoid also.

The body of... blood of... cumcumcum... OMG

- Kylie Minogue, "Come Into My World (FischerSpooner Remix)"
FischerSpooner is doing a show out here next month, I think...

Kylie annoys me. OMG excess electronic editing.

cumcum cum into my world... do I sense a recurring theme/fixation?

 And what's with the looped orgasmic sound?

AMVable material that can be easily turned Yaoi... or just plain HMV.

- Sparks, "Angst In My Pants (Plagiarism version)"
Official Band Homepage
BTW, Their new album, "Li'l Beethoven", is really lush and fun.

Angsty? No, just a slightly annoyed-sounding disco. Wouldn't be very gay were it not for the allusions to objects located in pants.

So where's the plagiarism? And no cum?

***

Yep, gay is the word for the day.

Hmm, I wonder, is that a guitar soundscape loop I'm hearing in the back of it? Sure sounds like one, quite nice. I'm a big fan of soundscaping.

Dntel (feat. Ben Gibbard) - (This Is) The Dream of Evan and Chan - from the album "Life Is Full of Possibilities"

I'll post another set of 5 tomorrow.

Interesting use of fuzzy noise as percussion. Again, I seem to hear soundscape(ish) loops in the background.

Looking forward to the next ones!

Alrighty, how about some more from the same corner of musical obscurity, but in a more pop-like, entertaining direction...

Adrian Belew - producer, singer, songwriter, drummer, viola player, and not least of all - a hall-of-fame guitarist. On solo projects, he plays most instruments himself.

However, his quirky talent for lyrics and music composition seems in need of highlighting...

Adrian Belew - Incompetence and Indifference (a fun little piece of social humor Ade released free online last Christmas.)

Adrian Belew - Asleep (Ade's song for Sep. 11)

The Bears - What's The Good of Knowing? (The Bears are Ade's very own group of buddies. From 2002's 'Car Caught Fire' album)

The Bears - Under The Volcano (from same album)

The Bears - Caveman (from 'The Bears LIVE', 2002)

The Bears - Little Blue River (from 'The Bears LIVE')

The Bears - Mr. Bonaparte (from 'The Bears LIVE' - awesome song! Mr. Bush should give it a listen...)

King Crimson - Happy With What You Have To Be Happy With
(Distinctly Ade's work - while it doesn't intend to, it makes a sarcastic little piece of humor regarding trends in Metal these days... From the EP of same title, 2002)

***

And, if that doesn't convince you to check out Ade's stuff - he's also the guy in my present sig (yes, the famous phone/nose pick avatar)

Oto: Adrian Belew rocks. We had Salad Days (and a couple of KC and Animal Logic albums) on repeat while renovating these past few weeks. The acoustic version of "Young Lions" is excellent. :)

Hehe yea. I've tried to get my hands on the recent Japanese CD re-releases of his early solo albums, but alas...

It's surprising how good he is with acoustic guitar. Even inside KC, things like Cage and Three of A Perfect Pair rock massive.

...

But, I digress. More music people! Links plz :)

They don't need to know the evil that is Doop.
I have no idea how to use this new forum.

AtomX: Thank you man! I'm halfway through listening to the stuff you posted, but I already gotta say it's some awesome picks. Certainly useful as I'd never try this kind of music otherwise.

And, of course, Dismemberment Plan is mighty nice. I admit, you got me there.

Glad I can spread the love :) Also, the BPM&M tracks you posted yesterday were quite awesome :O

Against All Odds - A Phil Collins Cover

Gwah! Was gonna post that one today :o Ah well. Beat me to it. That's all I had in terms of non-Give Up tracks. Other than the covers OF Postal Service songs by other bands but those don't really count, and personally, I don't like em too much. So if anyone has any more rares, hook it up plz.

Okay here's my 5. Will be real easy today since they were already uploaded. I was helping Ian (Absolut3Destiny) find a song to use for a new video and I upped these. They're all kind of in a same theme (a little mellow/brooding). Some of these are a little bit more mainstream than what I've been posting so please forgive me :P Anyways, enjoy-es!
