Don't be mean when you can be helpful. The fact he (or she for all anyone knows) is still posting means that they're listening, and thinking.

RamonesFan2020204 wrote:Also, did you ever hear that song by Limp Bizkit called "Hotdog"? That's a great song, because I hear Fred Durst is making fun of Trent Reznor in that song, and Fred Durst probably also knows how horrible those kinds of bands are.

I hate to be a dick but Fred was paying tribute to some of Trent's most popular songs in that chorus. He even mentioned in an interview that he was a big NIN fan.

However, how can you consider something like Fear Factory, with amazing music and vocal range "bad", yet claim Limp Bizkit, which has done nothing but degrade women and spout weak rhymes, "great"?

But not in the stereotypical "baby killing, animal sacrificing, snake blood drinking" one. Still, Manson is weak sauce in my book. He'll be looked back upon as the 1990s verson of Alice Cooper. Hey, maybe RamonesFan will like him, then  .

ithaqua wrote:NIN, which is mostly just Trent Reznor, is not satanic. It switches between agnostic/atheist, but never goes into devil worship.

You sure he doesn't switch between angst and anger?

ithaqua wrote:I'm starting to think you may be mormon, in which case, the body is a temple, and you don't want to pollute yourself.

While on the topic of satanic organizations, to some Christian sects, being a Mormon is the same as being a member of a satanic religious front. If he'd come out and say it, that he doesn't like the music because it contradicts his religious beliefs (assuming that's the reason), I think this thread would be a lot better for his position.

ithaqua wrote:The last two CD's I bought were from "Scraping Foetus Off The Wheel", a politicallly-minded industrial band, and "Apollo 440", a techno-dance group. (and no, I'm not just trying to be pretentious by stating this)

I must be pretentious, too, since I've heard of both those groups.

ithaqua wrote:These are two distinct genres, neither of which will permanently mark me as a member of either stereotypical "fanbase".

Diversity is the name of the game.

ithaqua wrote:So base music on whether you enjoy it, now what you fear it may say about you. If there is a God, do you really think he will punish you for all eternity because you listened to "the Dope Show" a couple times?

Precisely. The god who can't boogie down is probably not a very nice god to begin with.

Since he's still in the closet, never. He spends his time trying to fight his true homosexual urges, and he has dreams about Vin Diesel's balls in his mouth all night. This forced lack of sexual clarity creates frustration, frustration leads to anger, and Fred misplaces his anger into misogyny.

Bad Fred.

So because you didn't mention them is it cool to listen to Slayer, particularly "God Hates Us All". Because I was thinking of getting it but I might reconsider if you tell I will go to hell for it.
But I do support what you say, I listen to "heavy shit" and I have every intention of becoming a heroin addict and I am also considering dedicating a year or two of my life to occupying a prison cell (no joke). In fact Tool told me too.
milatchi wrote:"TOOL are the greatest band ever"

They have a point.

I may have missed but I don't think so. Haven't people through every decade proclaimed the new music as the devils work? Wasn't Elvis prohibited from having the bottom half of his body shown on TV because it was too racy? The Rock n Roll you speak of was once criticised for being the work of the devil. Surely you could be more open minded about what others CHOOSE to listen to. Do you also not read books that have been written in the last twelve years because school would get pretty tough is that was the case? What about TV do you not watch new TV because it is the work of the devil? If you do believe that the past decade is the Devils doing shouldn't you then be considering all advances of mankind from the time he left Eden. What about the internet which is a huge forum for porn and the music you speak of, surely you should botcott such an extremely digusting medium of communication.

Damn you and your unresistable trolldom.

What's this probably stuff? If you're not going to make a stand against it all then your entire argument is rendered worthless.

Grow some testicles and fight for your damn beliefs like a man. Don't get all namby-pamby on us with your "Probably"'s. Tell that man you're comin! and tell him Hell's comin with ya'! HELL'S COMING WITH YOU!
