I agree that a lot of older bands were great and I do wish that there were more like them now (such as Megadeth and Iron Maiden), but not all new rock sucks. I also very much disagree with your whole "Those satanic rockers are a waste of talent" statement. Manson is great (if you don't like his lyrics because of religious views I can understand that - but he's quite a talented writer truth be told). Tool...is alright. I'm not a fanatic about them like some people but they have some alright songs. Slipknot is good once in a while but since every song sounds somewhat similar due to the constant screaming, I get sick of them fairly quickly (im listening to them right now though and it hasnt happened yet). I also don't completely agree with Nirvana killing rock. That doesn't mean i liked them though. Smells like Teen Spirit was DECENT but You Know You're Right made me want to die. I don't consider
You Know You're Right
You Know You're Right
You Know You're Right
You Know You're Right
You Know You're Right
You Know You're Right
You Know You're Right
You Know You're Right
You Know You're Right
You Know You're Right
You Know You're Right
You Know You're Right
You Know You're Right
You Know You're Right
You Know You're Right
(repeat 5-10 more times at least)
...to be good lyrics. Especially since he was saying it in the most annoying voice possible. This is the song I personally hate more than any other. I simply can't stand it. I'd rather listen to Lynard Skyndard or Nelly Furtado or something else retarded than listen to this song. While yes, I do hate them quite a lot, it's better than You Know You're Right (which I would like to elect as the worst song of all time. period).
Anyway. Yeah. I like manson. and Slipknot. and Tool (sort of). I also like Iced Earth, Megadeth, Metallica, Adema, KoRn, Cradle of Filth (some songs), AC/DC, Danzig, Disturbed (not their second CD...*shudder*, Gravity Kills, Nine Inch Nails (one of my favorite bands), Powerman 5000, Rob Zombie, StainD, Stabbing Westward, Static X, System of a Down, The Rolling Stones, and The White Stripes.
I'm not one of those people who can't give up the old, nor am I one who knows nothing but Pop.
