Looking for a non-instrumental song...

Postby SephirothJenova » Wed Aug 07, 2002 12:51 am

I've got a recent idea for a video, that involves a song that has no lyrics but is not an instrumental. I want something that has slow and fast paces to it. I mean, I want an instrumental song that doesn't use a violin or a piano. That's pretty much the song that I'm looking for. Anyone know of a couple of songs like that?

Um... synthesizer music? Walter Carlos and Rick Wakeman have good synth music of varying styles that you might like... (more like classical style, not dance-type synth music)

"Strings In Trance" by Minister is one I could recommend. Although very techno, and kind of fast, it may work. Even if it doesn't, it's still a good piece of music. Pure synth.

"Biot Messiah" by Juno Reactor has a fast industrial sound to it, but has a few slow places.Kind of long,though(7:56 according to Winamp). Synth and guitar.

"Wenn der letzte Schatten fällt" by L'âme Imortelle is instrumental and reasonably long. Slow synth, kind of dark.

That's about all I can shake up right now from my MP3 collectioon.
I'm out...

"One of these Days" Pink Floyd
"Wriggle" X-Japan
"Just Like You Imagined" Nine Inch Nails

Those are really good.

Hmm,

"The Spider" Kansas
"Endless Dream: Silent Spring" Yes
"Am Juengsten Tage" Kerry Livgren

come to mind, but they all violate the piano and/or violin rules. "As It Should Be" also by Kerry Livgren doesn't have that problem, but it might not get slow enough for your needs. You should check them all out anyway. They're cool and the world needs more AMVs done to tunes by these artists (especially to Kansas tunes that are not either "Dust in the Wind" or "Carry on Wayward Son").

Out of curiousity, why do you require that they don't have violin and piano?

How about YYZ by Rush?

I think he just means non-classical music. Like Ride of the Valkyries and such.
