ok, so i just see a TV spot for this web site http://www.buymusic.com

i go to it and im hooked, at only $0:79 per song, (i dont know of any hidden charges) i think this site should be indorsed by everyone. but what are your thoughts on it? am i just being taken in by something hip and new, or would it just be nice of everyone could see that although music isent free, its really really cheap, and that no one really has any reason not to use this web site. at any rate, i want to sign up.

so what do you think about it? anyone ever used it? are the MP3s in good quality if you know. if so, this could be the next best thing to Kazaa, only youll be getting less viruses and less lawsuits

If they seriously expanded their selection (and I had more $$$), I might be more interested. I also don't care for their IE only policy.

Still, something to pay attention to...

The selection is awful. I typed in searches for Sigur Ros, Creedence Clearwater Revival, John Fahey, The Rolling Stones and Nick Cave and got no results... But plenty of Spice Girls and Abba (no offense to their fans, just not my cup o' tea).

So there's no good new music? Just the same old crap that www.emusic.com has?

Damnit, I knew it was too good of an idea to work.

im sure their has to be a way to request music or something to that effect. i dont see why they would tell anyone, NO were not going to go get that music for you. thats just bad business. but still, this site is in its infintecy, im willing to give it time to grow before i flat out drop it. but i really really DONT like their pollicy about selling ALL your personal informaion =\

maybe they will change that soon.

I checked it out, and it has at least three songs I'd like to download. I just wish I had a credit card.

iTunes Music Store rules so much harder than BuyMusic, it's not even funny. I was able to find hard-to-find Monty Python sketches on iTunes. Tell me that doesn't rule.

Well, yes, but the RIAA's iron grip on file sharers is closing, and I fear that legal online music will be the only thing left in 5 years or less...

Uhh, a judge just said the RIAA has to back off of Kazaa, so don't get too concerned. In the end the consumer decides, because they have the money.

If you want to strike back, begin supporting independent labels, such as Positron or Waxploitation

Mr. Valenti is an asshole.

During the whole VCR hearing way back, he compared the potential impact of VCRs on the media industry to that of the Boston Strangler and women.

Overdramatic, incomparable, and demeaning, in my book.
