Blackwater Park, and then Damnation.

I'm thinking about getting an album of theirs. They're pretty much the only modern european metal band I have any interest in.

_Morningrise_, then _Still Life_. Their new stuff is cool too, but there was absolutely no progression between _Blackwater Park_ and _Deliverance_. And _Damnation_ sounds too much like the Red House Painters -- who I also like, but they don't sound like OPETH.

I saw them live at this year's Mass Metalfest, and they rocked the place flat, though, so they're obviously not losing it. I can't wait till they finish this phase and do something else that nobody in the scene's even thought of yet.

Yeah, Still Life is pretty damn good too. The thing I don't like about Damnation and Deliverance is that there's not the creative mix of heavy vs. mellow. Deliverance is almost brutal, while Damnation is almost sleepy. I wish they had just done those two as one album like they were going to in the first place. :? But I do eagerly await what they've got planned next.

EXACTLY. I reviewed _Damnation_ for a friend's zine (which he still don't have up, or I'd give a link), and ended up not being able to give it a review. Because I review metal albums, and there's no metal on _Damnation_. Score: n/a of 100.

I've listened to it several times since, just to make sure I didn't zone and miss something, but it still sounds the same.

_Deliverance_ alone: yawn, no change from _Blackwater Park_, 92/100
_Damnation_ alone: yawn, no metal, not ratable
_Deliverance/Damnation_ double CD: OPETH RULEZZZ, 99/100
