hehe - you asked for it:

Strawberry Alarmclock ----> Boston

Wild Butter ----> Brownsville Station ----> Molly Hatchet ----> Twisted Sister

oh, I'm sorry! . . . I thought you were refering to "what bands became whome ^^;;;;;

.............. but, in all fairness, any band can become popular; but it takes a Style of Music to become known:

Boston

Pink Floyd

Rolling Stones . . . .

Seraphim Shock - pretty small gothic metal band that I like a lot.

Deita Klaus - Singer/songwriter who is local to LA, as far as I know mp3.com is the ONLY place to get any of her stuff. I like her a lot as well, she's great.

Oh, let's play Indie-er than Thou!

I've heard of Mogwai, thus it is now mainstream. Sorry! ;) Same for Hooverphonic, as they had a song on the DM tribute album. *bleaches brain to get rid of the memory of that thing*

My ego is fine, and I don't think music's quality is based on how many people like it, so I'm not playing. Besides, there's that rule that if I've heard of it, it's mainstream. 8)
