Songs that make you feel good...

Postby Lone Wolf » Sun Apr 20, 2003 3:50 pm

I'm looking for songs that are upbeat and make you feel better. Also, anything with lots of brass instruments or choir/gospel voices is good. For example:

ACDC - Highway to Hell
Aerosmith - Just Push Play
Bob Seger - Hollywood Nights <-I'd like to see in an AMV
Doobie Brothers - China Grove
Greenday - Welcome to Paradise
Lo Fidelity Allstars - Battleflag
Mad Caddies - S.O.S.
Pearl Jam - Better Man
Strung Out - Everyday Game
Van Halen - Big Fat Money, Hot for Teacher, Ice Cream Man, Panama

All of these songs are definitely must-downloads.

I think that is going to be the serious issue with this thread.

Eg. Radiohead - Creep makes me feel better.

I wish I slept with more girls,
I wish you'd all go and get fucked."

this is kind of a broad area. Songs carry with them all kinds of feelings, and what makes someone 'feel better' is totally based on personality and context, making judgment kinda hard. Mellow stuff usually makes me feel good. Kirari - Last Piece (the gto ED) and Duran Duran - Ordinary World being examples. Also, I like to listen to classical stuff from EoE when depressed like Pachabel's Kanon and Jesus Bleibet Meine Freud. More relatively mellow stuff:
Collective Soul - The World I Know
basically anything on Smash Mouth's Astro Lounge CD
most of Everclear's stuff
Pixies - Where is my Mind
Yoko Kanno - Stella by Moor and Farewell Blues
Stuff from Matchbox 20

this is all relatively obscure, I'm just looking through my songs and pulling stuff out on a whim. I also like to listen to more euphoric sort of stuff, though alot of that could be considered mellow too. Guess tranquility just makes me feel better :\ goes back to the personality & context thing I suppose.

anything and everything by, Soulstice with emphasis on the track "The Reason" which sounds alot like the song "Dream Dreams" off the NiGHTS into Dreams soundtrack, which I also recommend.

Swandive - Demunication

and with that said

most of the tracks in the album She: a Female Triphop experience

----

Joydrop: Swan Song, this is not real, No One

Prime STH - Believe

Tin Hat Trio - Bill

thats good for now.
