Does Evanescence Not Rock?

My brother got me the CD without a single indication by me if I knew of them. They're okay. "Bring Me To Life" was a good pick for single. I like the CD, but by the end it seems too repetitive.

I disagree. I think their songs are more than sufficiently varied.

Eh. I like Linkin Park more. Hybrid Theory seemed more varied to me. And pretty much every song on the CD, sans Cure for the Itch, had the potential to be a single. I definitely cannot say that for Evanescence. Perhaps I'll lose that sense of repetition as I listen more to the cd...but I never got that sense with Hybrid Theory.

Well, it beats Reanimation.

Reanimation:

"Yo, look at me, I'm so cool because I'm remixing a Linkin Park song even though I don't know what it's about, I'm the best rapper ever, hi mom, I'd like to thank the Academy"

Better than Meteora, though. Half of the songs on Meteora had the exact same goddamn lyrics.

Don't have Meteora, and don't plan to get it any time soon (too many other CDs I want to buy more), but "Breaking the Habit" is awesome.

Damn straight! Meteora has only one good song in the first 8 tracks, and only one bad song in the remaining five; in an amazing coincidence, "Breaking the Habit" is the first one of those last five!

I still can't believe they turned that flute song into a bad remake of High Voltage

I'm sick of all these bands coming out with all their songs having the same theme of "oh, I'm a teenager; it's so confusing!!!"
Personally, I don't think the vocallist of this group is really that great. I've heard better.
This is nothing but plain commercial angst-chick rock, no different from Linkin Park.

Go listen to Kamelot instead (Epica rules!) :P

I love the analagy. Some of the people did understand the way that LP did the songs. Artists like John Davis and Stephen Richards. I did like some of that album. But yeah, I want to be quoted as saying "They DESTROYE!! FORGOTTEN!!!!!"

I'm sorry, but how the hell is that related to Evanescence?

That's true of every woman on the planet except Annie Lennox.

Except that (a) Evanescence isn't angst, (b) Linkin Park isn't chick, and (c) they're still damn good music.

Actually Evanescence is quite angsty. More relationship angst though, and less of 'the world hates me'.
