This is kind of like what Rozard said, but what the hell. :) It's hard to relate to and write about the same things you did twenty years ago. They're different people now, and they have different priorities in life. I agree with you, but in all honesty, it doesn't really bother me. I'd actually prefer them to grow up rather than turn into the Rolling Stones or something.

It's kind of like Green Day. A lot of people I know thought they sold out (on Warning), and that their music is lame now. It's what they want to do because they're getting old, and to quote Mike Dirnt (to the best of my memory): "When we get older, or music is going to reflect that. I refuse to be jumping around stage when I'm 40, with whatever hair I have left spiked straight up."

well thats not quite what i was complaining about, its good that bands grow-up, but i was sortof refering to a near complete change in musical style....metallica going from true metal with heavy guitars, and intelligent lyrics, to a lighter guitar sound and dumbed down lyrics(mainly the over repitition of the newer stuff ie no leaf clover)

as for the offspring, changing from punk rock(selftitled cd, ignition, and smash) to a slower sound, and being a little too radio friendly(pretti fly for...,original prankster) although more of a joke than really their actual style, it alienated many of the original fans, hearing 13 y/o singing alomg to a band who they though were new.....it just erks me..

sorry i'm ranting
