The Thread of Epic Songs (Certain restrictions)

Post by TEKnician » Fri Oct 19, 2012 9:51 pm

Please post any and all songs (in BOLD) that have a very deep dramatic feel to it. Looking for songs that incorporate hard drums (almost like war drums) and orchestra compositions. They may contain lyrics that are/arent dramatic but as long as the instruments create a deep emotional response.

Off the top of my head:

"LACHRIMAE" by Audiomachine

Is a good example of this genre.

Please add as you see fit! THE FATE OF THE WORLD IS IN YOUR HANDS.
Almost as hard as fighting a Holy Paladin.

So what you're looking for is basically trailer music, like what Immediate Music puts out in pretty high quantity. But here's a bunch of stuff that incorporates a lot of orchestra, or at least piano and keys, and is composed to be pretty dramatic. It all also contains vocals, but it generally adds to the drama of it all. Most of these are longer songs too.

"And Then There Was Silence" and "Age of False Innocence" by Blind Guardian
"When the Walls Go Down" by Evergrey
"The Devil to Pay" by Iced Earth
"When All is Lost" by Symphony X
"Iter Impius" by Pain of Salvation (no hard drums, but very dramatic)
"Morphine Child" by Savatage
"Memento Mori" by Kamelot
"Sentient 6" by Nevermore
Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.
