Gimme some Dubstep.

Post by ZephyrStar » Thu Sep 20, 2012 10:21 am

Since I am old, I do not have knowledge of musical trends. I require your recommendations for dubstep/breakbeat/electronic/awesome music. I tend to like things more on the electronic side and less on the rap/hiphop side, though will listen to anything suggested. Things I like already that might be similar? BT, Capsule, She, Flashworx.

Maybe it's best to ease into dubstep, in which case...
Alex Clare - Too Close (aka that awesome music from that IE9 commercial).

Honestly, I recommend this if you want to get a good taste of what certain styles are like and what styles relate to others: http://techno.org/electronic-music-guide/

Personally, I hate the wub, so I'd be a bad person to give any examples. I stick to house usually, maybe some trance or ambient.

And yes, from that chart, I'm more of a Chicago House kind of guy then a Detroit Techno or even Detroit House. I know, I'm bad at representing D-Town.
