Latest Recommended Metal/Hardcore/Industrial Band?

Postby Madzack » Tue Feb 25, 2003 3:46 am

So I cut myself off from watching MTV and TV itself to avoid my mind being polluted by crap like reality shows, manufactured pop and subliminal ads. In effect, I also cut myself off from what's new and latest in the heavy rock scene. So can anybody help me?

Beyond Garbage, who is the best and newest metal, rock, hardcore, emocore or industrial bands to be let by a female voclist? I've got my Kidneythieves, Curve and Tapping the Vein album, and I'm hungry for more!

Give me something that's like Deftones, At The Drive In, Curve, and Nine Inch Nails and beyond. Something that's hardcore and melodious at the same time.

From earlier argument: Ill Nino and Otep are NuMetal.
Opeth is cool though.
ANYWAYS, here is a good lineup:
-Black Metal
Marduk
Emperor
Dark Funeral
Zyklon
Limbonic Art
Peccatum
Mayhem
-Death Metal
Napalm Death
Arch Enemy
Opeth
Vader
Death
Hypocrisy
Brutually Ripped Flesh
-Grindcore
Cannibal Corpse
Anal Cunt
Dying Fetus
Nephasth
-Industrial and Goth
Das Ich
Genitorturers
Rammstein
Leather Strip
KMFDM (or MDFMK for you peoples I won't name...)
Skinny Puppy
Bile
Come to Daddy by Aphex Twin (only good song they have)
Siechtum

That's a good starting list. If you want more, PM me.

Some hard core punk rock bands that a lot of metal fans I know like are:

Finch
The Used
Thrice

and softer:

Thursday
Tacking back Sunday

but a lot of metal fans I know like those first three bands. Thrice has AWSOME guitar solos.

....missing....

At The Gates (broken up since '96, but they still rock)
The Haunted
The Crown
Amon Amarth
Dark Tranquillity
Amorphis
Daylight Dies
The Red Chord

and since you're recently cut off from the mainstream, I'll suggest In Flames' new one, _Reroute To Remain_.

more if I think of 'em,

Mindless Self Indulgence isn't like NIN. They're more like Anal Cunt.

What category would pitchshifter fall under?
So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab
