I havent heard songs from the new album, but i really like somewhere i belong. I love hybrid theory but the album is in the majority composed of electronic stuff, and band doesnt do much, but in the single they have grown in that kind of stuff, they played more complex guitar riffs( compared to hybrid theory songs) and i finally see the drummer doing some work cause he was lazy ass on the last album.

yeah, but that style was why linkin park was known, taking another style will just make them......just another rock band

The style is still the same, what im saying is that in this song you can see more of the band's skills not just Hahn's. The sound is still linkin park's.

Arghh, I promised myself I wouldn't post in this thread, but I have to get something off my chest.

I've heard 'Somewhere I Belong' a couple of times on the radio in the past few days and I can honestly say that if the rest of the album isn't substantially better than that song, then Linkin Park will have fallen in the crapper. The first 20 seconds or so of the song isn't bad, in fact it sounds better than most of the stuff from their first album, but after that little buildup and the hope that perhaps LP actually got better...the rest of the song let's you down. Hard.

It sounds more cookie cutter and wooden than anything from their first album, and that's saying a lot, especially to people that don't like LP. I can honestly say for the first time that I have heard a song that sounded like it had no feeling behind it whatsoever.

As a person that doesn't hate Linkin Park's guts, and would actually like to see them develop into a good band, I can really only hope that the rest of their new album will be better than this. The only thing that would be sadder than watching LP fall prey to 'Sophmore Suicide' rather than a Sophmore Slump would be watching people buy the album and tout it as greater than the first (and worse, greater than any other music/band out there).

Just my thoughts.

just listened to "Somewhere I Belong" and I think it fucking rocks!! Of course, I'm not biased at all, not with LP being my fave band. No, but seriously, it's a very good song, and Rob (the drummer) and Brad (the guitarist) are a little more audible!! Can't wait till Meteora comes out. O, btw, they named it "Meteora" because of a city of the same name, like a tribute to its beauty or something.

WHAT"S YOUR FUCKING POINT!!! just playing, ignore that...........but seriously, i agree with that other guy, if the other songs of the album arent better, which arent, i heard some, LP it's "goin down".......anyway, i respect if you like it though, i used to like them but now they are just okay, it's like DBZ, there's a point when you like it so much, and after a while you look at it as just another thing and just move on

Ya know there is a way to avoid the LinkinBallZ onslaught.... IGNORE IT LIKE I DO!!! Bwahaha! Linkin Park is one of my favorite bands and when paired wit DBZ theres sometimes good out come but when atleast 30% of the vids listed are LinkinBallZ then ya... i can totally relate to the hating on LBZ when the same song (in the end) gets used a billion times. THere are some of us that like LP though. so to all the newbies making LbZ vids STOP NOW. BACK AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER PERMANENTLY.
Love and Peace! ^_^

We can agree that Linkin Park's first cd, Hybrid Theory, was one of a kind and very good! Usually it's hard for a band to out-do their first cd, but what happened with Re-Animation was pretty horrible I think. The new cd hopefully will be as good as the first one (hoping Linkin Park doesn't sell out to a more popish, MTV style  ) but I think we all know that AMV makers will definately over use the new Linkin Park songs (and yes, mostly and probably will be used for DBZ AMV's by rookie AMV makers!).
Sorry I'm late, I was out saving your lives.....in the future!
