Re: 2011 Album of the Year
My biggest surprise with your list was no Wolves in the Throne Room. That album was incredible.
But dude this year was so good i could probably make a top 50 and be happy with every single album on there. I think my top 6 is solid, but anything below can be interchanged with other albums I didn't put up that are worth mentioning.

Re: 2011 Album of the Year
Oh, interesting. I'm actually of quite a different opinion. The year was certainly a good year, but there weren't that many albums that left me "wow"ing. Wolves in the throne room even dissapointed me a little. The album is a good one, but it lacks the aggressive exorcism-feel all of the their other released pushed on me. But maybe the album just didn't klick yet(!). Btw, "Hisingen Blues" by Graveyard also deserves honorable mention in this thread. I'd might even drop it in my top10 by now.

For me I keep finding strong releases left and right from many genres that I should invest some more time into. That Graveyard LP is also great.

Re: 2011 Album of the Year
Well, this post and it's replies serve as a 2012 Musical Bucket List of sorts for myself. I'm so far behind in music. The only albums I've heard on these pages are "21" by Adele, "Conditions of My Parole" by Puscifer, and "Thank You, Happy Birthday" by Cage the Elephant. I didn't know that Nightwish was even close to finished with their new album. I was also hoping that Deltron Event II would be on this list, but sadly the release has yet to come.
P.S. Lady Gaga? Really? Auto-Tune is a disqualifier for any decent album of the year contest. Especially when the artist can actually sing...
