I'm going to have to say 90s and 00.

Most people call 00 a decline, I call it progress.

It's hard to say for me, because I seem them all related. The Beatles and the 60s were kind of a continuation of Elvis and 50s, etc.
"I got an axe handle pistol on a graveyard frame
That shoot tombstone bullets, wearin' balls and chain
I'm drinkin' TNT, I'm smokin' dynamite
I hope some screwball start a fight
'Cause I'm ready, ready as anybody can be
I'm ready for you, I hope you're ready for me"umgd

The 1980's For Me

Post by NewTubeNemesis909 » Fri Mar 06, 2009 8:22 am

Megadeth, Anthrax, AC/DC, Metallica, Raven, Skid Row, Motley Crue, Dokken, Accept, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, The Ramones, Tesla, The Scorpians, ect...
Yeah, that should have been when I was born. Too bad I grew up in the 1990's... at least we had Nirvana and Anthrax was still going strong in the early 90's but, Metal suffered a coma for the most part. Metal fell asleep but, were back now. Metal never dies.
~They're gonna put me in jail? Man, I'm already in jail Don't they know that my life Is just one big cell I'll bite the hand that feeds me And I could give a damn if that hand needs me Why can't you leave me alone? A lie may fool someone else But it tells you the truth You're weak, just another clone~ - Opening lyrics to "In My World" BY Anthrax

1990s

Some may say that the 80 brought forth such beautieful genres such as Black, Death or other kinds of metal but they really blossomed in the 90s and in that decade Showgaze and Post were "invented" so I guess it's a good call as well. Actually I wonder what people wrote here altogether but I must admit the question is pretty interesting to start with. :P

The land before time.

And no, I'm not talking about the movie.

Or maybe I am.

Metal never really fell asleep, it just fell out of the graces of the mainstream audience. I have a ton of great metal albums from the 1990s.

Opeth, Dream Theater, Blind Guardian, Cynic, Death, Nevermore, Ayreon, Pain of Salvation, Symphony X, Iced Earth, Atheist, Dark Tranquility, etc. all had very good metal albums come out in the 90s. And that's just my personal collection, that doesn't include stuff that I haven't gotten to yet.
