Need help getting my forum banner to a smaller size.
Well i made this banner to see if i could get one up on the site... http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/79/final.jpg Problem is that i can never get the damn file to compress below 20k size... thats a very stupid requirement as i would have to set my quality settings in photoshop down to literally ze...

Just incase ^ was a lil to abrupt for ya. all editing software really chokes to death on anything that has been highly compressed like divx or xvid. So you need to avoid editing in those.. Take the divx files you are trying to use and convert them to huffy uv or largarith... Then you can import and ...

Ya after reading your post martial arts.. i started thinkin.. and your right. it is a memory problem.. Although i have 1 gig. i can only get about 1 minute of footage editing in before i have to stop and fix it. I believe that effects have a place in a video. but it takes a very skilled hand to make effects work. Pre canned effects like transitions have been used properly but most of the time you will find that people just throw a ton of these things to try and hid the fact that they threw a buncha clips on...
