If anyone need's codecs download the Klite codec pack 
at least in Vista WMM it lets you import any file (flv,mp4 etc)
download it at - http://www.filehippo.com/download_klite_codec_pack/

Well that has happend to me (Vista WMM) what i do is render the vid in AVI then import it to Virtual dub and compress it its not that hard
