what about when you build an actual preview in premiere? like, not exporting. just hitting enter and let it render like that, then look at it in the preview window. how does it look then?
if its dark then, check the opacity (rubber bands) of all your layers, check any effects and such.

Don't let the name of the program fool you. It's not ripping/compressing it to Quicktime. Was just a bad choice of program titles. It actually rips it to M2V (MPEG-2 video, void of audio).
