Re: The AWA 2013 Video Review Thread

I agree with your approach and feelings regarding your own AMV's. I feel the same; I mainly work off my own instincts and hope others like them. If I don't like it, it doesn't get released. Critically analyzing it is a whole different story however; for example, often what I find to be "high o...

Re: The AWA 2013 Video Review Thread

The response (I'm referring mainly to the criticism rather than the praise) to my AMV was unsurprisingly a mixed bag but a bit perplexing. Some of the technical issues that were pointed out were indeed fair but some certainly make me raise an eyebrow in regards to direction; I've discovered a clear...

Re: Otakon and AnimeUSA 2013 GigaThread!

It's worth mentioning that there were a surprising (or perhaps unsurprising given its popularity?) amount of Shingeki no Kyojin videos, despite maybe 7 episodes being out before the deadline. I was fairly surprised, anyway.

Re: Say Goodbye to the Light (Steins;Gate AMV)

I agree with the criticism on the flow; only after I've made two more amv's can I notice the flaws present in this video. Flow and scene selection are things I am developing a better sense of as my skills improve. I appreciate the compliments as well. Thank you for watching! Also, excited for level ...

Say Goodbye to the Light (Steins;Gate AMV)

189545 This is my first AMV. I first had the idea for this AMV upon watching steins;gate; I was hoping to capture some of the dark tension present around episode 12. That impending sense of hopelessness and dread; it was powerful stuff to me, and I wanted to find a way to convey it. What better way...

I could get my brother to join, if you want some competition for Kain :P

Here I am. I'll join!

Sorry, one last thing. I can't promise I'll be around a lot, but I figured it doesn't hurt to sign up anyway.

Re: FFVideosource crashing

Call it like ffvideosource("file.mkv", seekmode=0) Since you are doing linear decoding when transcoding in vdub, there won't be the speed drop from the random seeking, and this should fix the insanity error. Tried that, still crashes while transcoding with the "insanity" error.

FFVideosource crashing

When running VirtualDub and trying to export an AVI, it will always end up crashing with an error message something like this: "FFVideosource Insanity error: decoder returned an empty frame." See: http://code.google.com/p/ffmpegsource/issues/detail?id=74 So, are there any other frame-accur...
