any thoughts about mixing 4:3 & widescreen, HD & non-HD?

When I started editing together footage from different titles a few years ago (not extensively, but everyone has to start somewhere), the biggest issue I faced was how to combine footage from 4:3 titles with footage from 16:9 titles. It wasn't always pretty, but I'd definitely rather crop my widescr...

Re: So...what exactly makes a video "good" or "bad" to you?

what things will absolutely ruin a video for you, no matter how much else the editor might get right? AMV contest logos that are actually part of the video itself . Why do people do this? Is it required by the contest? Do editors think it will help them score extra points with the judges? I'm not t...

Re: AMV rant

Does telling everyone to "like and subscribe!" actually make a difference? Because for years now I've always found that approach to be really annoying and I just assumed it would rub everyone else the wrong way, but if that's what's getting people thousands (or even millions?) of views, ma...

This seems to be a widely-held opinion, and yet many of these same fans can't get enough of watching terrified people getting their bodies ripped apart by grotesque, bloodthirsty giants.

Re: Round 1

Sorry if I seem a little hostile. You don't. It would be silly of me to actually suggest that you or anyone else who's ever run this contest in the past -- if it's ever been anyone else -- is actually handpicking what songs make the cut. I would've thought that most editors have a few songs kicking...

Re: ♪ My zombie [AMV] - [RPcon 2014 - Ambizione]

Pretty good sync throughout. Overall, I liked the tone of this. The effects were appropriate and not overdone, which I appreciate.

Never heard of this anime before but it looks interesting to me now. Never thought I'd see an AMV done to a Mellowdrone song, either.

Re: MY European AMV Experience!

Vlad that sounds fantastic. Feel sorry for whoever had to sit behind that column. Shui already asked about the language barrier but I'm curious too. Or perhaps that's not a problem for you. Thanks for sharing your experience. Yes, AMVs are popular here too. I've experienced AMV related things in Cze...

Re: Obito's Mask

What is "Danger"? The artist who made the music? But he/she is also hosting an "amv tournament"?

Can you tell us what your thought process was behind this video? What inspired you to make this amv?

Re: AMV - I Live For The Night

I like the celebratory feel of this, a lot. And I usually groan when I see these kind of AMVs that are so loaded with choreographed dance scenes. But this had a lot of positive energy, didn't rely on fanservice, wasn't trying to be too cool in a way that I usually hate, etc. I liked the layer maskin...

Re: Don't Mess With Fairy Tail! (First vid in 7 years!)

The intro was really well-done and got my attention. A lot of clips fade out, which is fine, but quite often the clip ends just before the fade out is finished and suddenly turns a "soft" transition into a hard cut, which always bothers me when I see it in an AMV because I'm never confiden...

Re: Summertime Alive

This is just my opinion, totally personal, take it or leave it. I didn't like the text and would have preferred an AMV without lyrics. They only showed up in one part, which felt a little strange. The text itself felt kind of static. I think, that if you're going to use text and put lyrics in a vide...
