Re: Potential Change to the Site Definition of Anime

1. Do you feel that the Org should broaden its definition of anime to encompass this "non-Japanese" anime? No. 2. If the site made a distinction between "Japanese Anime" and "Non-Japanese Anime", but still allowed both types of videos to be cataloged and uploaded, woul...

Re: all time top ten AMVs on Youtube (# of views)

I'm already questioning my life's choices if that's #10... Good news, then. I counted wrong, that was actually #11. Here's the real #10. 10. The Flash Superhero Music Video AMV editor: dorsidom uploaded Nov 28, 2014 This is a Flashpoint AMV I made using the song Superhero by Simon Curtis enjoy. aSP...

Re: Recent AMV I saw on Youtube a few weeks ago

I was watching it on the Youtube app on my Roku. I dug back through the history on that but I think it only shows the previous 100 videos that I've watched on it, and unfortunately I think it would have been buried a bit further back then that at this point. I also checked my history on my computer ...

Recent AMV I saw on Youtube a few weeks ago

It was suggested to me by Youtube and was by an editor I was not familiar with. It used an older anime (maybe from the 1980s) and had a lot of scenes of a teenage girl running around by herself and in a small group of other girls and boys outside along a riverbank and by viaducts and paths. There mi...

Re: question for those who run AMV programming at conventions

I have never ripped a video from Youtube but I've always assumed that the quality would be terrible if I tried. (This is no longer the case?) I also would feel better just having the creator's blessing to have a copy that they'd send me by choice. Although the whole concept of sharing videos like th...

Re: The Red Book

This is really pretty and relaxing. And satisfying, despite how I also felt like it ended kind of abruptly. The smoothest AMV of 2017 so far.

More people need to check this out, but "Other Videos" is kind of the dungeon of the Org so I don't know if that's going to happen.

question for those who run AMV programming at conventions

Over the years, have you had to change how you go about acquiring videos to show during non-contest programming? For example, I'm talking about videos shown during action/drama/comedy-themed blocks, or "random"/free-play blocks of time? I am not referring to contests in which videos are su...

Re: Vicissitude

I like it. And I usually don't go for this style of animation (just a dumb prejudice, I don't know). This was well-edited, IMO. I love the upbeat energy of the song. It's not really a feeling of "juxtaposition" between the sugary pop music and the gritty, "dark" visuals, maybe th...

Panda Bear - Boys Latin

Not posting this quite so much for the song itself, even if it's the most enjoyable Animal Collective-related thing I've ever heard, but because this is the the trippiest music video I've ever seen. And maybe one of the 2 or 3 best animated ones I've ever watched.
