Water cooling for the computer? Long enough hoses to vent CPU /Video card heat outside/into cool room.

Re: I thinking about quitting making amv

I decided to take a break after my last one, and then couldn't get back to it when I wanted to. I developed a few ideas, even did some work on one but it was just ..... work, not fun. Then I got sick and couldn't even think straight (damn low blood count). Maybe now that things are improving we'll a...

Re: So, about good media players...

Have you looked in the Bios for restore options?
I think with my netbook you press Alt+F10 on the Acer logo at boot to get to the restore functions. It has a hidden partition.

Re: So, about good media players...

I used to use VLC for files that wouldn't play in other players, but then I learned a bit about codecs almost never have problems. I like MPC simply because the controls work right for me. Dbl click video, full screen. Click or spacebar pauses/resumes. I assume other players do that or can be change...

Re: So, about good media players...

Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling your players/codec pack? I've uninstalled and reinstalled MPC several times, different versions and all, but still get the same result. I've also tried this Fix it program that's supposed to fix WMP and it brings WMP back to working order until I restart my ...

Re: The Idiots Guide to Vegas

Unless you have a LOT of hard drive space (and that IS more likely these days), just convert CLIPS that you want to use to lossless, then import those.

Re: Cutting clips in half/doubling them in length...

Right-Click the clip in your timeline, select 'Properties'.

Experiment with the playback rate, and the resampling.

Re: In your opinion, how long does it take to make a great A

It depends on what type you're working on.

I made my award winning AMV "Anibad" in one afternoon total. Maybe just a couple hours.

It's easy to do sloppy work.

How do you get your inspiration back?

I am off of the chemo (mostly) for the time being, and since I'm feeling better without it I hoped to do some editing again, but just can't do anything. All of the good ideas I have in my notes seem flat, and what I WAS working on just - well, it sucks. Anyone know a good way to get inspired again? ...
