Re: How do you consume AMVs?

Mostly downloading to hard drive, along with the consistent renaming you mentioned.

You should have been at the Iron Editor at AWA this year... we had an AI as a bonus second challenger.

Re: BIG QUESTION!

Ok, here's something I just gotta get off my chest. Nobody cares if you use downloaded footage anymore. With subgroups ripping the vid directly from a digital stream or Bluray (or even DVD) the quality really isn't that much worse than what you'd be able to achieve yourself. In most cases it's even...

Re: Amv making

I made the mistake of using the polygonal lasso... it was an exercise in frustration Can I ask why? I'm guessing because you'd have to re-trace each and every frame. With the pen tool you can just move the anchor points around between frames (which is only slightly less tedious that re-tracing). Al...

Re: Amv making

Use the Pen tool (/paths/Bezier curves) in The GIMP or Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop or what have you. I made the mistake of using the polygonal lasso instead when I did my first video that required massive amounts of masking, because I didn't know any better, and it was an exercise in frustration (it...

Re: First Ever AMV

I would have to disagree with you there, ^ I can't tell you how bad the quality always is when I use DVD's. Here's an example of what downloaded footage has the potential to look like. This shot is 1920x1080 AFTER converting from .MKV to Mp4. Only looks slightly fuzzy around edges because, it's blo...

Re: Youma X - VAT X - Schedule and Streaming

4:30pm to 5:30pm - Imitation Hell (AMV Hell Rip-offs) I feel it's my duty to object to the gist of this title, because (lest we forget) AMV Hell was not even the first massively popular video of that format , never mind the first period. Even if it has had the best marketing and post-launch of the ...

Re: Nekocon MAIN AMV Contest RULES DEADLINE OCTOBER 20th!!!!

And I'm guessing that with the deadline extended as much as it was, there is no longer enough time before the con to have people send cleaned-up/censored versions if possible? /me is reminded of Otakon where they had no problem with the possible bondage (X), topless women in dream sequences (NGE), o...

Re: Innovator's in AMV Editing

Innovator's what? You're missing a direct object in your title. Well, "is" doesn't necessarily need an object; can't "in AMV Editing" be an adjectival predicate nominative? Of course "into" would be more idiomatic than "in" in that case, but it's still valid.

Re: AMV remixing?

Well, there was one time when ZeroSerenity took Machine's "Naruto's United States of Whatever!" and switched out the audio for a... somewhat YTMND'ed version to make "Naruto's United States of NNNOOOOOO!!!"

... why can't I find ZeroSerenity's Org profile anymore?

I still didn't get any confirmation e-mails for either of the two contests. Can you confirm that you received my entries? I sent them on Thursday night.
