Re: Upgrading server OS, downtime required

Unfortunately, due to illness, the upgrade last weekend was postponed. In the meantime, we will be updating the site login system sometime this week, potentially today. No issues are expected, but if you find yourself having difficulty logging in after this happens, first try to login via the forum ...

Upgrading server OS, downtime required

Hi Everyone, Before I get to the point of this post, I’d first like to apologize to those that have previously volunteered to help get the Org to a better place back in May. Phade’s call to action , while appreciated, was not very well coordinated with those currently performing work on the website ...

Re: a question [about titles]

At least on Windows, if you sort a folder's contents alphabetically then files named this way come before the videos that start with letters. I always assumed it was a way to get your video at the top of the list, and thus more attention, though I agree with the formatting suggestions that people ar...

Re: Stolen AMVS

When you sit down and view something, you have an understanding that nobody is claiming to have, themselves, produced the pieces. That's why you have attribution. You do, however, have the expectation they have produced the editing. That's why your name is on it, you added the effort. You did the w...

You could say this about AMVs in general. Most of them are shit because people don't put in the effort, but every once in a while someone creates something interesting.

Re: Stolen AMVS

In a hobby where people have historically created derivative works without permission, is it fair to require anything more than attribution when amvs are themselves used in new derivative works? (Yes, I realize the video discussed in the last few posts was not properly attributed, but people have su...

Re: Sad/Depressing AMVs you have seen or made

Could also post a lot, but here is a handful. 135186 Wounded orphans medically re-purposed for assassination... who needs a childhood? 142754 A lot of loss for one person to go through. 73772 65864 I'm tempted to post one of my own videos but there is enough decade old stuff in this list already.

Re: That glorious moment when you finish a hard mask

It would be nice if there was some sort of public repository for all this work that gets repeated over and over by different people...

Re: Anyone into photography?

Here's a full 360 degree panorama I made from 42 images I took at the top of Mt. Misen at Miyajima during my study abroad in Hiroshima this past summer. Unfortunately its a bit blurred when view at full resolution due to the way I shot the photos... https://dl.dropbox.com/u/2758911/orgstuff/photos/m...

Re: Patrick Bohnet (Quu) Has Passed Away

Although I haven't gone to AWA in some time due to school and finances, Patrick was always a familiar face there and I did once get the chance to chat with him and his wife in the hotel lobby one year... His impact on this community can't be understated. Wishing the best for his family.
