RAM....all the RAM you can afford. More layers = more RAM needed. Basically, there is no such thing as "too much" Also, you want decently fast scratch disks. If you can swing it, get a couple inexpensive SSD's and put them in RAID-0. A couple velociraptors would work as well. Either way, b...

Generally, you would use crossfades to convey a change in time and/or location, leaving them less suited for fast-paced material, especially if you're using 1/4s clips. Personally, I'd just stick with straight cuts.

Well if you're trying to poke through fabric with shears, you're gonna have a bad time. You either bunch up the fabric and snip a starter hole, use a blade on a suitable backing, or get a tool specifically for making holes.
