I'm going to be honest, I haven't got a snowball's chance in hell of getting this finished by the deadline, but seeing as how i only got my phrase/line yesterday i think i can be forgiven, could i request that the project is put back by a week so I can get something done?

Don't get after effects, get Premiere first if you have to get an adobe product, after affects isn't really meant for that kind of editing. On a different note, this sin't really what's meant by multi-editor project, check the other threads to find out what sort of thing we mean, welcome to the foru...
