So this is my first amv in over 1 year.
I shortened the song about 1 minute but it's still over 3 mins so you should be happy.
I started this project on Wednesday night and finished on Friday Night while spending about 4-5 hours of work into this, but I rushed some scenes in the end cuz I just wanted it to get finished :D
Also this was a challenge for me because it was 1st time I've ever edited this anime =)

Concept:

On this one I changed my use of effects alot, I took away almost all of my effects but leaving Black and White and fades. This is as close to raw editing as I can do now, maybe in future total raw editing is possible for me.
I tried to concentrate on emotions and scene choice rather than effect show.
This turned out to be very calm, slow and emotional amv to one of my favorite animes.

Story:

The Main male character Shinichiro has 3 girls that like him during the series and I wanted to point out the dreams, reality and hopes that these 3 girls and Shinichiro face when they're trying to grow up from childhood to adulthood.

Basically this amv was made for personal enjoyment and IMO it's not too bad :)
Constructive critism is allowed but it would be nice if you pointed out the good things also.

But enough of this, Enjoy!

Thanks!
-Zuho

This AMV was edited in 6 days. Considering how long my previous videos took to make, that should be a red flag, but trust me, it's much better than my previous "efforts".

Now, on to the boring stuff:

This was a rather spontaneous decision to start editing; I had two AMVs planned which I dropped to work on this one (for reasons such as incredibly fast ripping and encoding time for a movie compared to a series). I ripped and began editing the day I saw the Anime (Vexille). It's not that the Anime is particularly GOOD (I think it's only a step above the CG Appleseed movies, which I hated), but it seemed like decent AMV fodder (I'm surprised there are so few in the catalog). It also fitted a song that I'd been looking for something to match to for awhile. Metalheads familiar with Dissection may be somewhat miffed that the first Dissection AMV in the catalog will have a song from Reinkaos, but, what can I say, I love Starless Aeon. As a matter of fact, I haven't even listened to Reinkaos yet, I've only heard Starless Aeon (it came on The End Record's Dark Psyche compilation).

Why this song? It's been stuck in my head ever since I first heard it. I'm glad to report that I've finally got it out of my system. The video is mostly beat sync on the instrumentals and chorus (beat sync to vox ell oh ell) and lyric sync on the verse (much like my Gunslinger Girl AMV, but less sucky). There's no story or structure; this isn't some recruitment video for The Temple of the Black Light, the lyric sync is fairly shallow. If you want a whole meaning or theme behind this video, call it the Japanese's mortal enemy / salvation in the Jags.

I'm still wondering as to why Zarx264gui gave me such a large .mp4, it's not particularly long nor a particularly large frame size.

Side Note: The credits music is a piano cover of Where Dead Angels Lie I found on boochsack whilst I was editing (some may remember me posting it in Now Playing). Link here: http://tinyurl.com/mzxssm

Rankoeds Productions, ~For those who Dream~

The pairing I used for this is: Albert x Count.
It's a serious video of the hardships that came between them, and if they are able to overcome them, or if the curse between them is too deep.

I hope you all enjoy this ^^!!

        (Comments from John Kratzer)

Over 7 years ago, I made my first AMV, or "Anime Music Video", when I was near the height of my anime fandom. At this same time, I was applying to my university's Media Arts Program, so it was also a good excuse to try my hand at editing (since I had done nothing in the way of non-linear editing prior to this).

Fast forward to 2008, when I attended the Anime Expo AMV Contest in the Nokia Theater. The AMVs were all quite good, with the venue itself having a strong influence on my admiration for the creators' videos. Being here gave me the resolve to return to this and/or other AMV contests in '09 with a finalist-worthy entry of my own.

Around the same time, I was really into a Japanese Role-Playing Game called The World Ends With You. The World Ends With You, or TWEWY as its known to the fans, is about these teenagers who recently died and entered a probationary state where they can return to the RG, or "Real Ground", if they survive 7 days in the realm of the "Reapers" (like Shinigami) and "Noise" (vengeful animal spirits), whose alternate reality is known as the UG or "Under Ground". In terms of the main characters, everyone is intially distant and closed-off, and has difficulty seeking help out of either shame or selfishness. As the story progresses, though, they start working together and sharing each other's burdens, for "The World BEGINS With You". Basically, it's about expanding your horizons, noticing people around you, being a good friend, and all this other "feel good"-type stuff.

With TWEWY as my video source, I needed an appropriate song to compliment the feel of its characters/story...I happen to be a Paramore fan, and one of their tracks, "Pressure", instantly stood out as the perfect fit. "Pressure" is supposedly about the band's challenges when they entered the recording industry, mixed with sense of loss from the initial departure of bassist Jeremy Davis back in '05 (he came back). I really liked the song's chorus as Hayley and Josh's lyrics matched up quite well with the emotional struggles of the game's characters, plus its structure set up a perfect template for the game's partner-swapping segments.

This AMV was made over a span of time from August '08 to April '09 (8/08-1/09: capturing video/pre-visualization/re-learning After Effects; 1/09-4/09: editing). Starting in March, I enlisted the help of Radman (who had never played the game) to beta-test my various drafts and help with the post-production/encoding side of things...The goal was to make an AMV that could reach a viewer who had no prior knowledge of the game, while it's structure tailors to the hardcore fans as well. So, for those of you who decide to check it out, I hope it accomplishes that goal.

        Hi there,

this is a short funproject that i made in March instead of studying for my exams. Because i had to finish my ACON/ACEN vid, there was no time for releasing this one in april and also after that, top priority was set on my VG5 part but now as good as done with that. So here is the release of this way too long delayed funproject.

Enjoy!

PS:
The name is from a mathematic way of solving problems. With that methode, you never really reach the point where you want to get but in the end you will get a result that is as good as what you wanted in the first place and better than getting no result. All you need is a point from where you start - doesn't matter, which one that is or how far away from your target. So the name hasn't to do much with that amv, but still it says a lot about how getting better in something works.

OK 4real i really just like how the words sound and also it starts with an "R" as most of my videos do.

Special thanks to my beta-testers JCD, Streicher and Mirkosp!

Hao AMV with hints of HaoxAnna
Song: So Far Away
Artist: Staind
Anime: Shaman King

This is my life
Its not what it was before
All these feelings I've shared
And these are my dreams
That I'd never lived before
Somebody shake me
Cause I, I must be sleeping

(chorus)
Now that we're here,
It's so far away
All the struggle we thought was in vain
All the mistakes,
One life contained
They all finally start to go away
Now that we're here its so far away
And I feel like I can face the day
I can forgive and I'm not ashamed to be the person that I am today

These are my words
That I've never said before
I think I'm doing ok
And this is the smile
That I've never shown before

Somebody shake me
Cause I, I must be sleeping

(chorus)

I'm so afraid of waking
Please don't shake me
Afraid of waking
Please don't shake me

(chorus)

Time Taken: 1 week. 2 hours a day.
Song: Unknown Soldier
Artist: Breaking Benjamin
Software used: After Effects and Premiere Pro CS3

Additional Comments
This video shows how vegeta wants to become strong and how much he love his son. Don't forget to subscribe.

Lyrics:
Borderline, dead inside,
I don't mind, falling to pieces
Count me in, violent, let's begin,
feeding the sickness
How do I, simplify, dislocate,
the enemies on the way

Show me what it's like,
to dream in black and white,
so I can leave this world tonight.

Full of fear, ever clear,
I'll be here, fighting forever
Curious, venomous, you'll find me,
climbing to heaven
Nevermind, turn back time, you'll be fine,
I will get left behind

Show me what it's like,
to dream in black and white,
so I can leave this world tonight.
Holding on too tight,
bring the breath of life,
so I can leave this world behind.

It only hurts just once,
they're only broken bones,
hide the hate inside

Show me what it's like,
to dream in black and white,
so I can leave this world tonight.
Holding on too tight,
Breathe a breath of life,
so I can leave this world behind

This AMV was really fun to put together. While the last 4 had been assembled, I had been tinkering on this. I wanted to make it creepier, though. So we started running down all the known camera effects that make movies creepy. a popular one from "The Ring" or "Ringu" was making clips jumpy, staticy, and off-centered from the last cut. Jumpy and off-centered is easy. Static I found was faked by diffusing a clip, then desaturating it. Of course, if you only partially desaturate it, you get a "washed out" color, which in some cases is creepier than black and white.

But enough shop-talk. Hope this makes for good entertainment.

IMHO, the best, funniest of these 4. But I have a special place for both Don Kan'onji and Mr. T. So seeing them together was the best of both. And I think it was hilarious that his "Night Elf Mohawk" is a woman... an important distinction he fails to make that we apparently took ruthless advantage of. Enjoy!
